Every place you've run, on one map.
Runtile puts every outdoor run on a tile map of the world, then counts the countries, regions and towns you've run in. A card, a widget and a share card show them off. Places are matched on your iPhone, from a map that comes with the app.

The world, one tile at a time

Places is a tile map, like the heatmap. Each run lights the tile where it started, and places you go back to again and again glow brighter. The world map always shows the whole world, so a run abroad sits next to home, and far-off regions get a small inset of their own.
Above the map are three numbers: countries, regions and towns. Under it, every country you've run in, with its distance, its runs and when you ran there. Switch to Regions or Towns to see the map of one country filled in, and open any place for the runs you did there, month by month.
On the Insights tab and your Home Screen

The Places card on the Insights tab shows your map and the counts at a glance, and the latest new place you added. The Places widget does the same on your Home Screen, with the world cropped to fill its width.
In Year in Review, and on a card to share

Year in Review now has a places card: the map of where you ran that year and your top three places by distance. A year spent in one region gets the map of that region, with its distance and runs underneath.
Share your places as a card with the map, the counts, the year your first run on the map dates from and your top three places by distance. Run share cards can show where the run was too: turn on Show place when you share a run.
Questions
Is Places free?
The world map, your countries, the counts and the Places card are free, and so is the places card in Year in Review. Runtile Pro opens the region and town maps, each place's own page with its runs, the share card and the widget.
Does Runtile send my location anywhere?
Not for Places. The countries, regions and towns come from a map that ships inside the app, so the matching happens on your iPhone with no lookup.
Which runs count?
Outdoor runs with a GPS route in Apple Health. A run counts for the place where it started. Treadmill runs and runs without a route have no place, and the Places screen tells you how many of your outdoor runs have one.
When does a place count as new?
The first time a run starts there. When a run takes you to a new country or region, Runtile can send you a notification about it.
