How to get Nike Run Club runs into Apple Health
Nike Run Club can save each run to Apple Health as a workout. Here is the setting, what syncs, and how to see a running only total afterwards.
Nike Run Club is a lovely place to start running and a poor place to look back at a year. The fix is to let it write every run to Apple Health, where any stats app can read it.
Turn on Health in Nike Run Club
- Open Nike Run Club.
- Tap your profile, then Settings.
- Tap Partners, then Apple Health.
- Turn on Save workouts to Health (the wording varies slightly by version) and tap Allow on the Apple Health sheet.
Runs you record from now on appear in Health as Running workouts with distance, duration and heart rate if you used a sensor or an Apple Watch.
Apple Watch
If you run with the Nike Run Club watch app, the same setting applies. The watch app hands the run to the phone app, which writes it to Health.
What to do with the runs
Health now has your runs but still shows one Walking + Running distance. To see a running only total, a heatmap of the year, and your shoe mileage, open Runtile. It reads the Nike Run Club workouts from Health and does the rest.
Questions
Do guided runs sync too?
Yes. Every run recorded by the app, guided or not, is written to Health as a Running workout.
Does Nike Run Club sync my shoe choice to Health?
No. Health has no concept of gear. Runtile assigns shoes on its own from the dates you started running in each pair.
